With this in mind, Sangobuild panels are first pressed and cut into dedicated panel sizes from premium coils of high-quality steel in our factory. From there, 300 metric ton presses create uniform panels in our signature eight-layer process.
This dedicated process includes the application of Zincalume based steel on both sides; priming on both sides; application of an acrylic base coat; the natural stone granules; and then it's followed by a pure acrylic over-glaze.

Q: WHAT WILL A Sangobuild® ROOF COST?
A: The cost of the SANGOBUILD® roof depends on location and the complexity of your roof's design. But remember you will always need to calculate the price tag of a roof as a whole. Including accessories, installation etc., and make your calculations based on the longterm service life of your roof. You may pay a bit more now, but you will reap the benefits later. You will not need to replace your Sangobuild® roof after only one or two decades, as in the case of some other, cheap roof tiles. Reroofing has additional costs, such as the reinforcing or removal and disposal of the old roof in case you purchase heavy clay or concrete tiles. Since SANGOBUILD® can even be up to 7-times lighter than those, you may be able to use your current roof structure. If you live in a coastal or high-wind location, a SANGOBUILD® roof is likely to be less expensive than any other type of roof, because
it won't require special materials or fastenings to cope with extreme conditions.
Q: SANGOBUILD® PRODUCTS ARE LIGHT, SO WON'T THEY JUST BE BLOWN AWAY BY THE WIND?

assessment is needed and new battens to fasten SANGOBUILD® tiles onto.
Q: HOW WILL SANGOBUILD® ROOF PROTECT MY HOME FROM HAIL?
A: SANGOBUILD® is remarkably resistant to damage from hailstones of up to 30 mm. Even a massive hailstone as large as 90 mm cannot penetrate through stone-coated steel. You will not need to be afraid of leakages or of replacing your tiles after a hailstorm if you have a SANGOBUILD® roof!
Q: WILL MY SANGOBUILD® ROOF RUST?
A: It definitely will not. All SANGOBUILD® products are made of a tried and tested material called AZ150; i.e zinc-magnesium protection with 150g of coating per sqm. AZ150 is special steel coated with an alloy of 55 % ZINC, 45 % aluminum.
Q: WILL THE STONE COATING COME OFF WITH TIME?
A: SANGOBUILD's basecoat bonds the stone granules to the surface of the tile for the lifetime of the tile. However, a small loss of chips at the edge of the tile during the installation process is normal, as these are not meant to stay on the tile.
Q: IS A METAL ROOF HOTTER IN SUMMER?
A: SANGOBUILD customers report a reduction in energy costs. Because a metal roof can reflect much of the solar radiation. Furthermore, metal roofs re-emit most of the solar radiation absorbed.
Q: CAN I WALK ON MY SANGOBUILD® ROOF?
A: Yes. Weight should be placed directly over the batten when walking on the roof. However, we do not recommend walking on SANGOBUILD® painted roof tiles, unless it is absolutely necessary and only for professionals equipped with the required safety kits, as the high gloss surface is slippery, especially when wet.
Q: IS A METAL ROOF MORE SUSCEPTIBLE TO A LIGHTNING STRIKE?
A: SANGOBUILD® roof is no more susceptible to a lightning strike than any other roofing material. It only depends on the height and location of the building.
Q: ARE SANGOBUILD® PRODUCTS ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY?
A: Their long lifespan means that you will not have to replace SANGOBUILD®products for decades to come, which results in a lower burden on the environment as no new roofing work is needed. The products are also made of steel that can be recycled in the same way as steel cans or vehicle parts. Thanks to the lightweight, compact dimensions and safe packaging, the transportation of SANGOBUILD® cost up to eight times less than clay or concrete tiles.
Q: CAN I DRINK THE RUN-OFF WATER FROM SANGOBUILD® ROOF?
A:Yes. SANGOBUILD® roofs have been independently tested and the "run-off" meets World Health Organisation guidelines for drinking water. Why is this relevant for? If your house is located in a remote area without a water supply, you will be able to collect the water that drains off the roof and use it for drinking water.
